Should I arrive early?

If you did not fill out the online history form contained within your welcome email then please arrive at least 20 minutes early to fill out the paperwork. Since Dr Cox goes more in depth than your normal doctor the history forms may take more time than you expected.

What happens if I am late?

Dr Cox will try to see you if you are late but your visit may be shortened in order for Dr Cox to stay on time for the next patient. We ask you call if you will be more that 15 minutes late.

Do I need to get labs results beforehand?

Not necessarily. We may not be able to determine which labs are needed before your consultation. Payment for labs can sometimes be an issue with confusion over whether insurance will cover the labs or not. This is much easier to determine in the office rather than over the phone. We cannot guarantee insurance coverage for labs.

Will my insurance pay for my office visits for hormone treatment?

We do not bill insurance for consultations and follow ups for hormone treatment. Dr Cox would be unable to provide the personal attention and level of services if we depended on insurance reimbursement. If you have a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account these will often cover our services. You may also be able to deduct your treatments and visits on your federal taxes.

What is the cost of my visit?

Initial consultations are $300.00 and follow up visits are $175.00.

I live out of town, how can I get the benefit of Dr Cox's expertise?

Dr Cox believes in the value of face to face communication, so your initial consultation must be at our office. However, we often will do follow up visits via phone, Face Time or Skype for patients living more than ½ hour’s time from our office.

Will insurance pay for my BHRT (bio-identical) hormone prescriptions?

In some cases it may. There are commercially available estrogen and progesterone products for women that may be covered by insurance with a co pay. There are also some Testosterone products for men that may be covered by insurance with a co pay. Non-covered treatments include BHRT Pellet therapy for men and women, and testosterone therapy for women.

Which treatment is right for me?

There is no “one size fits all” treatment. You and Dr Cox will determine your treatment together.

How can I pay?

Payment is expected at the time of service. We accept all major credit cards, cash and personal check.

Does Dr Cox treat more than just hormones?

Yes, Dr Cox treats adrenal issues, nutritional deficiencies, provides weight loss services, food sensitivity testing and gut health testing. He also offers a Concierge Family Medicine service for all of your primary and integrative care needs. This service is limited to a small number of patients yearly. Ask our office or see the website for more details.

If I was a patient of Dr Cox at Paramount Family Medicine how do I get my old records?

Those records are held by Midtown Neurology and you can request those by calling 404-653-0039.
